You would think that everything is super with no chance of failure in the Santa Clarita real estate market.
Hey, I get it. It is our job – our career, our livelihood to sell real estate. Representing buyers and sellers is how we put food on the table.
However, does it have to be misleading? Can’t real estate agents say that it’s a bad time to buy or a bad time to sell when it is???
I am a very positive person. I love my career in representing buyers and sellers of real estate. However, I don’t think it’s a good idea to sell anyone short.
I was approached, with after riding up in the elevator with two new clients and another real estate agent, by that same real estate agent days later.
She cornered me and asked me a very pointed question, “How do you expect to stay in business if you keep telling people that it’s not a good time to buy?”
I explained that was how I felt and would tell anyone who asked, as did these clients. That was back in 2007 – the market was unstable at best.
The future of the real estate market was also unsure. However, after a few years, I reached out to the same clients and they bought a home and got it at very close to the bottom of the current real estate market.
It works, and those accolades that they are sending my way in the form of talking positively and referring, priceless.
As I have continued to see the “elevator lady” around the office, Paris and I have continued to grow in clientele and staff.
I always wonder what she thinks now? Do you think she has changed from being a “OMG – there is no better time to sell or buy now!!!” To someone that is a bit more “honest”?
Hard to tell – but here is what I know. Be Safe – let us know if we can help you and this present Santa Clarita Valley real estate market will not always stay this way.
