Real Estate – We have to be able to Laugh at ourselves
ByDuring my time with the LAPD in the full time capacity, I had developed the uncanny ability to laugh at myself and my counterparts. Being able to do this was a true stress reliever. It is important to look inside to find humor with things that create problems and when we have funny circumstances that abound.
Even though the Real Estate Market is in pretty bad shape. It will not be that way forever. There will be a time when we probably have forgotten how bad it has become and things will be operating in a more positive and normal way. But that Tree Line is very hard to see through this crowded forest.
It is very often when other fellow agents ask me how I stay positive with things they way they are. I have to explain to them that I have no choice. I can either be angry about the way things are, the way the market is, the way interest rates are, the way my personal life is, or my kids, my wife, my job, my friends, my family, OMG I can let all of this stuff and responsibility overwhelm me to a point of paralysis.
Or, I can embrace it, hug it, squeeze it, make a friend of it. Moving forward instead of holding onto the past. I can make a better very next moment, instead of being stuck on Rewind with my feelings, emotions, circumstances, responsibilities or whatever I am continually thinking about. It is time to change tracks.
If you are on a train going nowhere, then damn it, get off the train and get onto another one that is going somewhere.
"It is difficult, I was a victim, I was this or I was ____________, stop being those things". There is no one that will do it for you. It is you that have to want it. When you want it and can see it then go out there and get it. Be strong and not weak.
Make your future, do not rely on it coming to you or falling out of the sky. The time is now, and it will be. Because you are a very special person and you can make your way without your past. Your past is what brought you to this point. Now you need to let it go and embrace this moment. One Moment at a Time.
