I’m Very Disappointed with the Tricks of the Trade
By
I’m not sure if it is common place – but I am starting to think it is after being in the Real Estate business for the past 12 years, especially with my Law Enforcement background and current status.
Why are there so many tricks, secrets and deceitful ways amongst industry professionals? Professionals that are governed, at least a bit, by Boards of Realtors, National Associations of Realtors and also on a State Level?
I guess the GREED bug creates monsters of everyone sooner or later? Maybe not everyone, but what I read today really surprised me with regard to Short Sales.
“I will sell your Short Sale for FREE!!!”
I think that is the way I read it.
This is being mailed and printed on the WWW for everyone to see. What is wrong with it? It assumes that the Short Sale Seller is incredibly Uneducated and is also Insulting to their intelligence.
Of course your Short Sale is sold for free – It is the bank that is paying the Real Estate agents commission. This is understood in the Short Sale and Real Estate trade.
Except in the cases where agents have charged people “up front”, which, by the way, it extremely unethical, in my opinion Or charged them in the rear, if and when the short sale does not work out. (which is another thing we don’t agree with).
How about, “we don’t charge any fee’s directly to the Seller when we are trusted to negotiate your short sale.” Doesn’t have the same ring. But I think there is more of a showing of honesty and being transparent.
