What does the Back Up Status mean with Real Estate

The map below will show all of the properties that are currently in Back-up position within the cities that compose the Santa Clarita Valley.  You will be able to view them in their entirety.

The backup position, on face value, means that the agent or seller would like to receive a “back up” offer on the property.  Due primarily to the one they are currently in escrow with maybe being viewed as being “shaky”.

It could also mean that the agent wants the home to still appear as being “for sale” within a lot of the Major internet real estate search engines – so Leads will continue to flow back to the agent for the specific listing.
