So you are a sworn member of a metropolitian police department, sheriff’s department or Fire Department?  You are looking for someone that will have your interests at their heart and do their best dilligence to watch that everyone else involved in your transaction does the same?  Real Estate and Investing has its place amongst the men and women of the law enforcement and Fire Department communities.

The most difficult thing from our perspective as Real Estate Agents, is the fact that the survivability in these markets, with this as our client base, is very dangerous.  Not dangerous because our clients all carry concealed weapons or know how to lop off limbs with an axe.  No, it has to do with the main topic of conversation at these employ’s.  From my modest 17 year background with the LAPD, it was deduced by me that the most common discussed topic was about Real Estate and investing.  You could hear who got a great deal.  Who got screwed.  And who would reccomend their agent or lender to another.

This is the primary reason that other Agents do not operate well for very long times within these farms.  They also are not "one of them".  After serving in the trenches and still a full line reserve officer, I understand that that money earned is not why they are there.  It is because their sence of duty is over powering and they care about keeping the prey safe from the predator.

We have dug in deeper than Alabama Ticks within the Law Enforcement communities and amongst the County Sheriff’s and Fire Department folks.  We will never forsake their trusting us to provide for them the best and most honest representation.  The one thing that we consider is who else in going to be involved in their lives for the next few weeks while the home is hunted, found, escrow, and closed.  We want to make sure that our team is tight knit and very dilligent with our clients.  We also want to always make sure that no one is ever taken advantage of - or even thinks they were taken advantage of.

Even a mere preception could cause waves of damage to our reputation.  Paris and I would never have a part of that.  We make sure that we go above and beyond with how we model our business structure.  We also want to make sure that everyone that has contact with us knows that we have these ethics at our core.  We formed our business in this way - and we demand our TEAM performes in the same high-regard.

Here are a few of the search specific Domain Names and web pages that I have built for the men and women of Law Enforcement, Sheriff’s Departments and the Fire Department.

Institutionalization in Santa Clarita Real Estate - Carryover from LAPD - Part 1

March 28th, 2008 Connor MacIVOR Posted in CHP Real Estate Search, CONNOR with HONOR, LAPD Real Estate Search, LASD Real Estate Search, RE/MAX of Santa Clarita, RE/MAX of Valencia 1 Comment »

Institutionalization is a three dollar word - Or it would have been according to my Father - May God Rest his Soul.  I often times look at where I am today and wish he was alive.  I am sure there are a lot of you that are in the same predicament.  Wanting to speak to friends and family that passed on and such.  This was meant to be uplifting, so I will turn the tables.  Just know that I feel your pain if you are a victim of loss, or a victor - Depending on your personal situation or viewpoint.

Real Estate and its running its own course is something that I see as being very different from the other types of employment in the world.  I bring my 17 year past with a 10 year overlap between theLAPD and our Paris911 and REMAX Real Estate practice.  The overlap was interesting, because while at my "real" job I wore a uniform and had a take home ride (police motorcycle).  I had very different operating patterns.  I was always switching up routes I would take home and was extremely observant to any changes in the neighborhood or vehicles in the vicinity at odd hours.  Being a Police Officer, Highway Patrol, or Deputy, with a take home ride - you need be careful.  When not in that game day in and day out the edge starts to get dull.

Being a full line reserve officer and Teaching tactics and Firearms causes me to keep somewhat polished by practicing a couple of hours a week on my presses, deployment, and other drills that are related to the teaching curriculum.  What I don’t want it to look rusty in front of the impressionable men and women that are attending the LAPD academy.  What is different about teaching something that is related to a "mechanical" skill is that the instructor, most times, has to be able to conduct all related drills without a glitch.

Flawlessly - That is a very difficult standard to achieve.  But I have seen the Trainers from some of the best Law Enforcement Agencies in the world teach these Tactical and Firearms courses and I have to say most are incredible.  I have been blessed to have witnessed classes with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and their ‘top" instructors.  I have been direct witness to the Los Angeles Police Department’s training regimen and have participated.  As for the California Highway Patrol, I have seen training films and spoken with some that have been fortunate enough to have taught these high-speed courses with the State.

To teach these subjects you truly need to be able to do it yourself. To explain is step one - Showing is Step two - and Re-explaining is step three - Then being able to get them to do it is the trick.  Step Two and Showing - All eyes are on you.  Smooth is Fast - the drill is to unholster and fire 6 shots in three and 1/2 seconds two on the right target, two on the left target and two back on the right target.  From the close contact position.  When the class hears the time requirement and the buzzer goes - All the instructors shots better be center of mass and as close to touching in the 10 rings as possible.  If not - "What is the Instructor trying to sell us."  Is some of what is going through the impressionable minds of the youth.

I will continue in another post how I have brought the institutionalization from the LAPD into our Paris911 Real Estate Business at REMAX of Santa Clarita and REMAX of Valencia - CONNOR with HONOR (Stay tuned)

Don’t forget those Real Time Home Values - Compiled in 30 minutes and e-mailed back to you so you can see all that is going on in a target neighborhood or your neighborhood.  In the Santa Clarita Valley just type in the city followed by a 911.com and you will see the portal where you can input the property information.  example:  www.StevensonRanch911.com or www.Valencia911.com - www.CanyonCountry911.com etc….  I am almost finished with the Cities in Ventura county - Los Angeles and Antelope Valley - thanks for your Patience - If you need it now - visit www.Paris911.com and scroll down on the home page, they are set up there and functioning.

Communications Division Los Angeles Police Department - Home Search Engine

February 13th, 2008 Connor MacIVOR Posted in LA City Employee Real Estate Search, LA PSR Home Search Engine, LAPD Real Estate Search, RE/MAX of Santa Clarita No Comments »

I was blessed to have met the morning watch during my rounds at the Los Angeles Police Department in my capacity as a Full Line Reserve Officer.  I had coffee, spoke about the new retirement issues and problems and advantages of Drop and Bounce.  I also spoke about the critical incident that happened a few days ago with the Death of a SWAT Officer, Randy.  It was a very nice time.  I have to say that there is a huge amount of respect that I have for the Men and Women that work in any communications role.

Especially when they are working at a high-speed pace like the one that presents itself 24/7/365 in the City of Los Angeles.  There are not very many days without pursuits, shootings, fatal traffic collisions, other agencies serving search warrants, and officers on different frequencies attempting to tactically deploy at the scene of any one of the critical incidents that happen on a daily basis.  I have watched these Men and Women of communications division perform a multitude of tasks when dealing with people on the "VERGE" of doing horrific things to themselves or others, that would put to shame any other field of endeavor.

I am absolutely honored to have made everyone’s acquaintance and hope that they all have fantastic days ahead.

Thanks to MQ I appreciate the glimpse into your and everyone else’s, World!
